Bike Helmet Safety
Participants will investigate statistics concerning bike
safety related to helmets and will increase awareness of the importance
of always wearing a helmet.
Instructional Objective: Students will
Increase awareness of bike safety and use of helmets
Learn to use a data base
Learn to interpret data
Increase awareness of how the internet can be used to share
information
Content/Summary of what Project is about.
The class will compose a questionaire concerning the number
of students in a school, number who ride bikes to school, number who regularly
wear helmets, etc. This questionaire will be sent to participating schools,
participants will be asked to visit a web site, play games, and read information
there. They will then be asked to fill out a post-project questionaire.
Grade Level targeted by Project
This project is appropriate for all levels but fourth and
fifth grades will be targeted.

Teach students how to use a data base. Add responses to data
