Application and Analysis of Circle Graphs

You are now reading To Kill A Mockingbird. Featured in this classic are characters and circumstances directly related to the Great Depression in the 1930s. In this activity you and your group members will find and examine the demographical information which Harper Lee portrays through her characterization and setting.

Objectives:

gather demographical data on Alabama during the depression era via the internet
calculate percentages of data and display in a circle graph
interpret and analyze the information in a presentation on how it relates to Harper Lee's To Kill A Mockingbird

Project Requirements:

on a sheet of paper, list all web sites used to gather data and show all data conversions
on a poster board, create your circle graph(s), color, and label
