Mission:  Fairy Tales

Welcome Agents!!

As you know fairy tales are told in many different cultures in many different ways.  It will be your mission-should you choose to accept it- to see how each culture effects the fairy tale you will be investigating.

Agents available for this mission are in grades K-5.             

 

Mission:   Your job is to locate your grade level and follow your assignment.




 

K-Agents

Read two versions of The Three Little Pigs.
  1. Mission: Draw a picture comparing the two versions and include the setting.
  2. Mission: Write an apology letter to the pigs from the wolf.  Click here  for letter template

1st-Agents

In your classroom read the classic version of Cinderella  retold by M. Brown and Yeh-Shen retold by Ai-Ling Louie.

       Mission:  Click  here and complete the website activity. 
 
 

 

2nd-Agents

Read four versions of Beauty and the Beast


    Mission:  Print the Fairy Tale table and complete.

3rd-Agents

Read four versions of Cinderella
    • German
    • French
    • Chinese-Yeh-Shen retold by Ai-Ling Louie
    • English- Cinderella retold by M. Brown
  1. Mission:  Print the Fairy Tale table and complete.
  2. Mission:  Print  map and label with the origins of the fairy tales

4th-Agents

Read two versions of Sleeping Beauty and Snow White


    Mission:  After reading these stories, identify the story elements found in all versions.

5th-Agents

Read two versions of Snow White

Final Project:

Good job Agents!  You have successfully completed the first part of your assignment.  For your final assignment you need to create a fairy tale based on a modern day culture that includes the literary elements found in  fairy tales.
